Office Admin Apprentice – Front of House – All Office (Float)

We are seeking a full time Office Admin Apprentice to work across our 8 offices on a rotating schedule, but also to cover planned and unplanned absence on the reception desks when required.   The role is offered as an 18-month Fixed Term Apprenticeship.

Candidates must have their own transport (car) that is insured for business use and will be willing to travel regularly to all 8 of our offices.  Mileage will be paid where travel is in excess of usual commute from home to the base office.  The allocated base office will be within a reasonable commute from the successful applicant’s home.   Our offices are located in: Poole, Parkstone, Blandford, Southbourne (Bournemouth), Wareham, Swanage, Dorchester and Crewkerne.

The role will involve working ‘Front of house’ as the ‘face’ of HK Law, taking phone calls and attending to visiting clients, as well as supporting the legal teams with general administration and document management.    The position will suit candidates who are immaculately presented and possess the relevant transferable skills needed for working in a professional office environment. Previous experience as a receptionist or similar is desirable but not essential as training can be given. However, candidates must be conscientious and reliable with a professional demeanour and possess excellent communication skills including a good telephone manner.  An eye for detail and the ability to follow instructions, process and procedure is essential, as is a keen interest in helping colleagues to achieve common goals.  The role will involve a degree of light lifting and carrying (i.e. files) and regular use of stairs.  There may also be daily shopping and postal duties required.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Business Administration Level 3 qualification that includes Business and Law related modules, via an appropriate training provider.

Depending upon the wishes of the Apprentice and their abilities,  and subject to their being a suitable post available, the intention is that the Apprentice will be retained upon successful completion of their apprenticeship.   In any case, we will always mentor, coach and train to a high standard to equip the individual with an array of practical administration skills that will be useful for any future employment whether that is ultimately within the firm or elsewhere.

Please review the job specification and relevant job description and if you meet the criteria for the role then please upload your CV and a brief covering letter via the ‘Apply here’ section, or alternatively send an email to recruitment@hklaw.uk
