At HK Law, we recognise the importance and responsibility of nurturing the next generation of Solicitors by providing excellent training and support. As part of this commitment, we are offering two 40-week work placement opportunities in 2024.
These are paid placements and are aimed at students undertaking a Law Degree where there is a requirement for a placement year as part of the course.
To be considered, you should be on track to obtain a minimum of a 2:1 and be seeking to pursue a career as a qualified Lawyer in the future. You will also need effective communication skills, a pleasant disposition, and an excellent work ethic.
Placements will commence in the summer after the end of your academic year.
About the placement year
You will enjoy working alongside and being mentored by our highly skilled Lawyers within one or more of our legal departments. You could be based in any one of our 8 offices across the region, but we will aim to place you in an office that is easily accessible to where you are living. You will be paid at least National Living Wage for the duration of your placement year with us and will enjoy all the usual perks and benefits of working at HK Law.

Why undertake a placement year
The experience will equip you with a range of skills that are essential in the working world, no matter whether you decide to pursue a legal career or not. If you do continue the journey towards becoming a qualified Lawyer, then the placement may be counted towards Qualifying Work Experience which could shorten the time it takes to qualify following completion of your Law Degree. Additionally, we will guarantee an interview to those students who are undertaking a 40-week placement with us, so overall it increases your chance of gaining a Training Contract!
