  • Why do I need a Lasting Power of Attorney?

  • Can I create a Lasting Power of Attorney myself?
    While it is possible to create an LPA yourself, seeking legal advice ensures that the document is legally valid, tailored to your specific needs, and compliant with all relevant regulations.
  • Who can be my attorney?
    Your attorney can be anyone you trust to make decisions in your best interests. It can be a family member, friend, or a professional, such as a solicitor.
  • When does a Lasting Power of Attorney come into effect?
    A Lasting Power of Attorney can only be used once it is registered with the Office of the Public Guardian. It can be registered at any time, regardless of whether you have lost capacity or not.
