Martin is a Consultant in the Corporate & Commercial team in our Poole office and specialises in work involving regulated activities.
I have a track record of achieving solutions in complex situations, including large-scale project work and transactions, with particular expertise in financial services, banking and regulatory issues. As a specialist adviser to FCA regulated firms, I advise regulated clients on all aspects of their business, such as corporate accountability and the SMCR rules, documenting transactions and the organisation of the firm, as well as on the complexities which arise from changes of ownership.
I have extensive experience in advising on banking transactions such as secured lending, complex funding arrangements, intercreditor agreements and personal guarantees. I also have a strong client base in the design sector, and have particular expertise in intellectual property law, often advising clients in this sector on establishing, documenting and enforcing rights.
My other area of specialism is the sale, purchase and regulation of care homes. As well as these specialist areas, I regularly advise clients in a variety of sectors on commercial agreements (negotiating terms and ensuring compliance); arrangements between business owners (shareholders’ agreements, LLP members’ agreements and partnership agreements); and purchases and sales of shares and businesses.
I was formerly a Partner of a London firm, and have considerable Middle East experience.
