Caroline is a Partner and Head of Commercial Law based in our Dorchester office. Having previously worked in the corporate finance team of a large City of London firm, Caroline specialises in company and commercial law including the sale and purchase of companies and businesses, equity investment (including EIS and SEIS investment) and other forms of corporate finance, shareholders agreements and business succession planning, financing issues, share option and other employee incentive schemes, management buy-outs (and buy-ins), joint ventures, agency and distribution agreements, franchising arrangements, employment law, intellectual property and commercial contracts of all kinds.
As well as companies, Caroline advises partnerships and LLPs, and has advised many business on the transition from one type of business vehicle to another
Caroline also provides start-up advice to new business ventures and is keen to stress the importance of getting to know her business clients, their needs and the market in which they operate.
In the education sector, Caroline has advised a number of schools on their conversion to academy status (see ‘Academy Conversions’) and has gained extensive experience and expertise in helping schools to convert to Academy status quickly and efficiently.

When booking appointments with us we will keep your details solely for contact tracing purposes, we have Perspex protective screens in each reception, staggered meeting start times, we have masks available in each reception and meeting room and gloves so we can wear PPE if you need us to, after each meeting we are cleaning the meeting room and all contact surfaces on top of our daily cleaning and weekly deep cleaning of the offices.
We offer home visits again wearing PPE or telephone appointments via video conferencing.
