Humphries Kirk to offer free Wills to Dorset Wildlife Trust members throughout October

Leading Dorset and Somerset law firm Humphries Kirk is one of four firms taking part in a free Will writing service in October being offered to Dorset Wildlife Trust’s (DWT) more than 27,500 members.

Throughout October, DWT members are able to contact the firm’s offices to arrange an appointment. The free Wills service is for members wishing to make a Will or update an existing one, with the option of donating to DWT through a gift in their Will.

The charity relies on 25 per cent of its work being funded through gifts in Wills in order to enable important conservation work to continue. The free Will writing scheme was introduced by the charity in 2012 to raise awareness of how vital this type of fundraising is.

Sally Welbourn, communications officer at Dorset Wildlife Trust, said: “We’re really grateful to Humphries Kirk for helping us offer the free Will service to our members. Donations through a gift in a Will play an ever increasing part in how we fund our nature reserves across Dorset. Those that do leave a gift in their Will, no matter how large or small, can take great comfort in knowing their legacy will be helping Dorset’s wildlife for many years to come.”

Adam Scott, partner at Humphries Kirk, said: “We are pleased to be working with Dorset Wildlife Trust again this year to help raise awareness of the importance of having an up to date Will. Having a Will is the only way you can guarantee your wishes are respected after you have passed away. Without a Will and no traceable surviving relatives, your whole estate could pass into the hands of the government.”

Humphries Kirk has offices in Bournemouth, Parkstone, Poole, Swanage, Wareham, Dorchester, Crewkerne as well as London and has an international network of lawyers. Visit for more information.
