Humphries Kirk to attend Dementia Friends session

| Published on June 14, 2016

Staff working at the Humphries Kirk offices in Crewkerne and Dorchester are set to attend a Dementia Friends training session to learn about Alzheimer’s Disease and the other symptoms that contribute to the reduction in a person’s ability to perform every day activities.

Dementia Friends is an Alzheimer’s Society-led initiative which aims to increase dementia awareness and change the way the nation thinks, talks and acts about dementia.

Laura Staples, Partner at the Humphries Kirk office in Crewkerne, will attend the session along with a group of her colleagues, she said: “We’re really grateful for this opportunity. We have solicitors here who already specialise in assisting families of people with dementia and it’s important to Humphries Kirk that as many staff as possible know more about the disease and can help to create dementia friendly communities.”

In the session, Humphries Kirk staff will be asked to commit to a dementia-friendly action that will make the lives of people living with dementia a little better.

Simon Cross, head of private client services and partner at Humphries Kirk, adds:  “I have been so impressed by this initiative that the firm will be holding a similar event in Dorchester shortly to bring home this important message to our staff.
