COVID-19: I haven’t got a Will, can I still make one during lockdown?

| Published on April 3, 2020

With the current COVID-19 crises at the forefront of all our minds and a lot of us having more time on our hands, people are looking to ensure that their Wills are up to date or if they haven’t made a Will, to make one. But how can you get the advice you need if you are in lockdown or isolation?

At Humphries Kirk we always like to meet with our clients to talk about their particular requirements, but this doesn’t always have to be face-to-face. We are able to offer telephone and videoconference (Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp etc) meetings to take instructions regarding any legal matter. With Wills we can then email a draft to you for your consideration and approval and then discuss with you how best to execute (sign) your Will.

Adam Scott, a Consultant Solicitor with Humphries Kirk LLP comments that:

“In recent weeks we have become ever more inventive and have witnessed client’s Wills through windows, whilst in their cars and in their driveways, always observing the current Government guidance.
It is important that everyone has a Will in place and no one should be put off from doing so despite the current circumstances. We are here to help in any way that we can.”

If you have a Will but it needs updating or have never made a Will and now wish to make one then Adam can be contacted for further advice on 01202 421111 or by email at a.scott@hklaw.eu.
